This drain control valve is an important component of steam heating equipment and steam pipelines, as well as an energy-saving product. It can utilize the throttling effect of multi-stage nozzles to convert hot condensed water into secondary steam by reducing pressure, thereby allowing the condensed water to be reused. In addition, this valve can also be used in pipeline systems such as cold water discharge, liquid level control, and minimum flow control.
When the valve starts to operate, the working position of the valve should be adjusted first. After operation, it does not need to be adjusted again. The subsequent condensate flow rate is adjusted by the multi-stage nozzle throttling effect according to the state of the medium at the nozzle inlet. The medium state can be cold water, hot condensate, steam, or a mixture of condensate and steam.
When the medium is cold water, through the throttling of multi-stage nozzles, the discharged water is still cold water and the volume remains unchanged.
When the medium is steam, the steam is still discharged through the throttling of the multi-stage nozzle. However, due to the significant pressure drop of the valve, the steam enters the multi-stage nozzle and expands multiple times, resulting in a significant increase in the volume of the discharged steam.
When the medium is condensed water, the condensed water undergoes multiple continuous expansions in the multi-stage nozzle, and due to the huge pressure drop present in the valve, some of the condensed water is converted into secondary steam. The valve discharges the mixture of condensed water and steam. The amount converted into secondary steam depends on the temperature of the condensed water, the pressure drop of the valve, and the opening height of the valve disc. When the opening height of the valve disc is too high, secondary steam will not be generated.
The drain control valve should be installed in the appropriate position of the pipeline according to its different functions in the pipeline system. When the pipeline system uses this valve to convert condensed water into secondary steam, a steam trap should be installed in front of the valve.
